One dose (drop) contains:
Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) 2000 IU
Vitamin D is often called the “sunshine vitamin” because the human body synthesizes it in the skin under the influence of sunlight. However, there are situations in which the synthesis that takes place in the skin is not sufficient to meet the body’s needs for vitamin D3.
Vitamin D deficiency occurs in people who are not exposed to enough sunlight, in people with malabsorption of fat, chronic liver diseases, cystic fibrosis, inflammatory bowel diseases, in obese people, as well as in postmenopausal women. Also, elderly people are often prone to vitamin D deficiency due to insufficient exposure to the sun, but also due to the use of certain medications that can affect the absorption or metabolism of vitamin D.
The main function of vitamin D is the regulation of calcium homeostasis in the body and the modulation of the skeleton, that is, the development and mineralization of bones. Thanks to its role in the absorption of calcium and phosphorus from the digestive tract, vitamin D enables adequate building of bones and teeth, helps maintain their health, and is an important factor in the prevention of osteoporosis. In addition, vitamin D performs other important functions in the body. It is very important for achieving strong immunity and proper muscle function. Vitamin D contributes to reducing the risk of falls which are associated with muscle weakness and postural instability. Osteoporosis and muscle weakness are risk factors for bone fractures in men and women over 60 years of age.
Adults: Apply one dose (drop) under the tongue once a day.
Depending on one’s requirements, several doses per day can be used if so recommended by your physician.
